Virtual Workshops on the World of Virtual Work

WBC has put together a new tool-kit of four Virtual Workshops on the World of Virtual Work for those that are working from home or remotely. All of these World of Virtual Work workshops are highly interactive virtual training solutions, delivered remotely in easily managed bite-sized chunks. Workshop size is strictly limited to 10.

World of Virtual Work 1:  Working Essentials (3 hours)

In the modern world learning to work remotely can have a big impact on effectiveness for many people.   Building capabilities for remote working, whether you are an occasional or routine remote worker, is a key aspect of career planning which helps us to gain fulfillment in our work.  This workshop is for anyone who is moving to a remote working environment.

In this set of three 1 hour virtual sessions, run on consecutive days, you will gain the skills and knowledge you need to successfully move from working in a physical working environment (with other colleagues), to working remotely from your colleagues, managers and regular office environment.

The workshop looks at the challenge of working remotely from the three perspectives of:

  • Productivity – how to get things done.
  • Connectivity – staying connected, and keeping in touch with your colleagues and managers.
  • Well-being – maintaining your physical and mental health is an essential part of working remotely.

The workshop covers one of these perspectives each day and highlights how each perspective impacts the others. The workshops include interactive activities and all attendees receive reference materials with key hints and tips.

World of Virtual Work 2:  Team Working Essentials (3 hours)

This workshop is aimed at team members and team managers who want to understand what makes a team successful, and how to deal with the challenges of being in a team whose members are working remotely.

The workshop looks at the essential skills for a team member, with a further emphasis on how working remotely impacts both the team members and the Team Manager. The subjects covered include:

  • A compelling direction
  • A strong structure
  • A supporting environment
  • Shared mindset

The workshop covers each of these subject areas with a mix of presentation, interactive activities and all attendees receive reference materials with key hints and tips.

This workshop is delivered as a set of three 1 hour virtual training sessions, run on consecutive days.

World of Virtual Work 3:  Management Essentials (5 hours)

The Management Essentials virtual workshop gives attendees the knowledge and skills they need to successfully manage people remotely.   The workshop is aimed at any manager who is wants to learn how to deal with the challenges of managing people, combined with added complexity of managing in a remote working environment.

The workshop covers each of these subject areas with a mix of presentation, interactive activities and all attendees receive reference materials with key hints and tips.  Content includes:

  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Delegation
  • Motivation & Trust
  • Performance Feedback
  • Collaborating & Influencing
  • Problem solving & Decision Making

World of Virtual Work 4:  Courageous  Conversations (3 hours)

The Courageous Conversations workshop gives attendees the knowledge and skills they need to successfully identify, organize and hold difficult conversations in a remote working environment.  This workshop is for anyone who needs to hold a difficult conversation and looks at the challenge of holding those difficult discussions in a remote working environment.

The content covers all the essentials, with additional material focussed on the added complexity of managing Courageous Conversations in a remote working environment.
