The Client: a leading, global strategy consultancy.

The Challenge: One of the world’s leading strategy management consultancies serving the energy sector approached WBC to help develop its consultants and managers.  The client needed to be up to date with the key dynamics of the downstream and petrochemicals businesses and with industry trends so that it could adapt to the prevailing market conditions.  Consultants also needed to be able to speak intelligently with clients, understanding their language so that they could deliver better pitches, engagements, and presentations.

Approach

Two key steps were taken:

  • Worked with the client to identify key themes that the programme had to address: strategic trends within the sectors; value creation and destruction in the industry, decision making; synergies along the value chain and digital transformation.
  • Hand picked from the WBC network a cadre of 5 former executives and subject matter experts with proven training delivery experience.
